Revoked Plaid Authorization for Linked Bank on Atomic Account

Updated over a month ago

Plaid provides the secure connection between NerdWallet and your bank. If you see a message saying “Plaid authorization was revoked”, it means Plaid has lost permission to access your bank account.

This can happen for a few reasons:

  • You recently changed your bank login password.

  • Your bank updated its security settings or added new multi-factor authentication (MFA) requirements.

  • The connection has been inactive for an extended period.

When this happens, your linked account connection is paused until you reconnect it.

How to reconnect your bank account in the NerdWallet app

  1. Open the Main menu (☰ icon in the upper-left corner).

  2. Tap Atomic accountsConnected accounts.

  3. Tap + Connect account at the bottom of the screen.

  4. Follow the prompts to re-link your bank through Plaid.

After reconnecting

Once your account is linked again, you can:

  • Make one-time deposits, or

  • Set up recurring deposits

by tapping the MOVE tab in the app.
