Some of my transactions are not showing up. How do I get this fixed?

This article covers transactions that have already posted at your financial institution but are not appearing in NerdWallet. If your transaction is still pending at your bank, or if your account balance is out of date, see Refresh Bank Account Information instead.

To check whether a transaction has posted and finalized, log in to your financial institution's website and review your running transactions.

Our platform updates nightly, so transactions that finalize during the day may not appear in NerdWallet until the following day. If the transaction posted less than 24 hours ago, wait for the next nightly update before taking further action.

If a transaction has been posted at your bank for more than 24 hours and is still not showing in NerdWallet, check your account for a Fix connection or Reconnect prompt. If one appears, follow the on-screen instructions to restore the connection — this is the recommended first step and avoids the risks of unlinking your account.

If no prompt appears and the transaction is still missing, contact NerdWallet Support. When you do, please provide:

  • The name of your financial institution

  • The specific account affected

  • The last sync date shown in the Net worth section

  • A description of the missing transaction, including date and amount

  • Screenshots if possible — one from NerdWallet and one from your bank's website

If the issue is caused by a third-party outage or a data migration at your financial institution, our support team will let you know. You can also check the Plaid status page at dashboard.plaid.com/activity/status to see whether your institution has an active issue.

When transactions stay pending for more than a few days

Pending transactions usually finalize within a couple of days. If a transaction has been pending at your bank for more than 3–4 business days, contact your financial institution directly — the delay is on their side and is not something NerdWallet can resolve. Once it posts at your bank, it will appear in NerdWallet within 24 hours.

When transactions appear in net worth but not in Cash Flow

If a transaction or deposit is reflecting in your net worth balance but not in your Cash Flow tab, this is a display inconsistency — your account connection is working, so unlinking and relinking will not resolve it. Contact NerdWallet Support and describe which tab is showing the discrepancy.

Should I unlink and relink my account?

We do not recommend unlinking and relinking as a first troubleshooting step for missing transactions. Unlinking removes the existing connection and can result in permanent loss of historical data, changes to your net worth graph, duplicate accounts, and missing spending history that cannot be restored. If NerdWallet is prompting you to fix or reconnect an existing connection, follow that process instead of manually unlinking the account. If you have completed all available troubleshooting steps and transactions are still missing, contact NerdWallet Support via the chat modal.
