If you're having trouble with the standard process for linking your financial accounts, you can add them manually by following the steps below.
Note that manually added accounts do not automatically update. For a complete and up-to-date picture of your balances you'll need to manually add your transactions for these accounts. For this reason, manually adding accounts is a better option for accounts whose balances don't change frequently, like investing accounts.
To manually add a financial account from the NerdWallet app
Start by making sure you've downloaded the latest version of the app and signing into your NerdWallet account.
1. Go to your Net Worth tab.
2. Tap the + on the top right corner.
3. Select Add Something Manually.
4. Choose Account.
5. Fill out the information below. If the amount entered is owed, such as a loan, credit card, or mortgage, please add a - in front of the number so it reads as a negative balance in your Net Worth.
6. Select "Add".
To manually add a financial account from a web browser
1. Hover over My NerdWallet on the top right corner and select Net Worth.
2. Select +Link Something Else under the laptop icon.
3. Select Add Something Manually.
4. Select Account.
5. Fill out the information below. If the amount entered is owed such as a loan, credit card, or mortgage, please add a - in front of the number so it reads as a negative balance in your Net Worth.
6. Select Add.
