NerdWallet uses phone numbers in two different places — for MFA (login security) and for linking your TransUnion credit profile. The steps to change each are different. Follow the section below that matches your situation.
Changing your MFA (login) phone number — If you need to update the phone number you use to receive MFA codes when logging in, we can help reset it. More details are available in this article.
Changing your TransUnion credit profile phone number — If you entered an incorrect phone number when linking your TransUnion credit profile (credit score) to NerdWallet, you'll need to close your current account and re-open an account with the correct phone number.
Note that if you're linking a bank account and need to change the phone number that your bank uses to verify your identity in that process, you'll want to either log into your account on the bank's website to update your number there, or contact their customer support team to do so.
