NerdWallet is advertising Axos Bank's Rewards Checking $300 offer using code RC300, which is attractive to me. Has anyone successfully opened an account with Axos Bank? I tried to open an account but was unsuccessful, so I tried with another email address. The attempt with the different email address was also unsuccessful. I called customer service and they immediately started asking me for my social security number, date of birth, and address, none of which I input in the system. This gave me a bad feeling that this bank may not be legitimate. 

Has anyone successfully opened an account using this offer? Does anyone else have a bad feeling about Axos Bank?
