Issue with ITIN confirmation from IRS

I am a nonresident living in Pakistan. I've been working for US-based companies as an independent contractor for years now and wanted to build my US credit history. I applied for ITIN in FEB 2022 and IRS received my ITIN form along with 1040NR and Schedule IO form by 1st March 2022. These forms I mentioned were recommended by IRS itself.
FOr like 3 months I've been trying to call IRS and get an answer on my ITIN application but they never picked up. The recorded line asks me to wait for 10 to 15 minutes but even after 1 hour no one comes to the line, I don't know what to do now.
