Philip, You missed one - Plugging in.
In the US, you can go anywhere and get gas for any car, because there is a standard fuel pump connector.
In the European Union, you can go anywhere and get a charge for your electric vehicle because there is a standard for connectors across all countries.
In the US, there is NO STANDARD for connections of all vehicles for charging purposes. Which is why you cannot cross certain states with your Tesla, because they have no dealerships there to charge your vehicle.
Also, no one has thought out how to handle a 100 car pileup in winter with electric vehicles.
