Rejected for a Chase Freedom Unlimited credit card... even with an excellent credit score!

Hello... Anyone else on here get rejected for a Chase Freedom Unlimited credit card, even though you have an excellent credit score and have received various online recommendations for this very card (as well as several others offered by Chase) from multiple credit-monitoring websites (including NerdWallet)??? And, no... I haven't opened 5 or more new accounts within the last 24 months. I'm well aware of Chase's supposed "5/24 Rule"... So, does anyone have any information/advice as to Chase's "inner workings" when it comes to their decision-making processes??? Any and all responses are greatly appreciated! Thank you... Signed: Disappointed and Bewildered...

  I'm a bit late to respond but you can call them and dispute the rejection. I did this recently for my card. I hope you have the card by now

  Thanks very much for the response and advice, Anthony. I did just that, a couple of years ago... called them multiple times, pleading my case... to absolutely no avail. Just got the "run-around"!

  As a side-note, I also got declined for their Amazon Visa, a couple months later... Utterly preposterous, as my credit scores with the three major bureaus are hovering around 790! (I know there are obviously other criteria, too, that credit card companies consider, but COME ON...)

  And, for some reason (ALSO after MANY attempts and follow-up calls), I also can't establish an account with their Credit Journey program (their credit-tracking service), which they advertise everywhere as being FREE FOR EVERYONE... whether you're a Chase customer or not.

  In my experience, even though they maybe have some appealing cards, Chase can be really quirky and a real pain sometimes... probably more trouble than they're worth... for me, anyway.
