Standing at the intersection of #FI #FIRE #retirement and #points & #churning I have a question--- Can you fund an IRA contribution using a credit card?

    As far as I know. you cannot make contributions to your IRA with credit. In theory you could do it with a cash advance, but that wont apply to your churning or points strategy as they usually only count "purchases".

    I would consult with your bank to find a Pre-Paid card you can use to deposit into your checking/savings.  then you can buy this pre-paid card with your Credit Card. this allows you to get the points/purchases on the CC, and load the funds from your PP card into your checking where you can then contribute to your IRA, pay bills or do as you please. 
    basically using the prepaid card as your middle man to turn credit into cash.
