Hello All, I want to pay off the mortgage of my rental property. I have way more than cash needed and given interest rates are so low it seems like a better idea to remove debit than to seek investments. If I don't request a payoff letter and just use the website to pay additional principle can I avoid a $30 Payoff letter Processing fee? There are other fee associated as well such as with the county recorder . Are those fees usually spelled out in the promissory note, my mortgage has been sold so many times they might not even have that. Are there any tips on getting out of these fees or is it actually worse to not request a payoff letter? I don't need the title any time soon so I can afford to wait.
