Advice on applying for first credit card!
I'm applying for my first credit card. 3 months ago I panicked about getting one and applied for the TD cash card without doing research. I was rejected and am now trying to figure out the best way to move forward. I was planning on applying for the TD secured credit card (I'm a TD bank customer) or the Capital One Platinum credit card but I want to make sure I do it right this time.
My question is if the recent rejection (3 months ago) will affect my chances of being approved for either of these now or if I should wait longer to apply. My credit score is 690.
That's a great question! A secured card is always a great way to start out, especially if it is with your own bank. The general rule of thumb is six months between applications, but you can always talk to someone at TD to see what they think your chances might be. Here's some of our awesome content that explains the timing on applications and how it affects your chances:Comment actions
