financial babysitter?
We need a financial babysitter: some third party who'll regularly monitor our finances, budgets, debts, etc. and be active in corresponding with us (by text?) to follow-up on purchases, unexpected expenditures, or extra funds that could be routed to other things. We're very irresponsible with our finances, setting them up and just kinda hoping from there on out.
We have a DMM already, but she's not nearly as regularly attentive and hands-on as we'd like. When I search for "family accountants" online, what I get is a lot of CPAs offering tax prep and other formal services, when what we need is a babysitter/parent who'll largely just manage these things for us while being proactively aware of our in and outflows.
What exactly am I looking for, here? What is such a person/service called? Thanks, all,
Scott

Hi Scott! 👋 Thanks for the question!
It sounds like you're looking for a financial coach or financial accountability partner who can regularly monitor your finances, budgets, and debts, and actively communicate with you to help manage your money responsibly. Unlike a traditional accountant who focuses on tax preparation, a financial coach takes a more hands-on, proactive approach to your day-to-day financial well-being.
