    Hi Shelby -

Thanks for reaching out to NerdWallet; we're happy to clarify what's going on.

Our third-party account linking partner is experiencing a technical problem that is preventing you from linking to Principal right now. This can happen from time to time when our linking partner needs to update their connection with a bank, and a fix should already be in progress.

Unfortunately, we don't have an ETA for a resolution at this time, but we can recommend giving this connection to your account another try in about a week when these updates should be complete. If you still can't connect to Principal at that time, please send us a message at support@nerdwallet.com

    Best regards,

    Victor

Any update on the status of this fix? I, too, am unable to link my Principal account and have had this issue for several weeks.

    Hello,

I'm experiencing the same issue with linking my Principal Financial account. Despite being able to log in directly through their capcut pro apk website, I'm unable to link the account. It seems like there might be a technical glitch preventing the connection. Has anyone found a workaround or solution to this problem?

    Hi Joe -

Thanks for posting to the NerdWallet Community Forum!

Users have been able to link to Principal again since last week. You just have to log into your Principal account, fill in your security question responses if you haven't yet; then you should be able to link to Principal.

Send us a message at support@nerdwallet.com if you have any difficulty.

    Best regards,

    Victor

Still having this issue as well. It’s quite frustrating how bad the error message is saying “something went wrong” and it’s clear that it’s some kind of issue not signing in because of the amount of time it takes before it fails but rather some kind of handshake or authorization.

    Hi Omar -

    Thanks for following up!

Some of our staff also have Principal accounts, and during the past month or two, Principal has been un-linkable at times and linkable at other times.

You can create a free Plaid account and reach out to Plaid directly to communicate about this issue. They may be able to share more information with you - as an account holder. Their contact page is here: https://support-my.plaid.com/hc/en-us

Meanwhile, you can manually add the account to NerdWallet.

    Best regards,

    Victor

I'm encountering the same problem when trying to link my Principal Financial account. Even though I can log in directly via their Capcutapkpro website, I'm unable to establish the link. It appears there may be a technical issue hindering the connection. Has anyone discovered a workaround or solution to this issue?

Nope, it’s frustrating because it doesn’t seem to be an issue on principal's side since the connection works well with my other apps, it seems to be an issue with either Plaid or Plaid's connection with nerdwallet. Plaid doesn’t have end user facing customer support they only have support for devs. So no have gotten no helpful answers and haven’t been able to resolve this except by using credit karma net worth instead which seems to work great
