This information relates to TransUnion Credit Score and Report Linking, not Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on your NerdWallet account.

To view your credit score and credit report using your NerdWallet account, you’ll be asked to submit information that helps TransUnion, our credit score partner, verify your identity. Verifying your phone number is required in order to link your credit score and report. 

Once you submit your phone number, you’ll receive a text message at that number containing a code. Enter that code to proceed to the next step in connecting your credit profile to your NerdWallet account, and you’ll be on your way to viewing your credit score and report.

You should also know:

• You're only able to verify one NerdWallet account per phone number. 
• The phone number will need to be a U.S.-based mobile carrier number.
• Online call forwarding numbers, such as Google Voice, will not work.
• The phone number you use for TransUnion verification may or may not be the same as the phone number you use for logging in with MFA. They are not connected since NerdWallet and TransUnion do not share this information about you with each other.
