You may see incorrect information on your credit report for a couple of different reasons:
Outdated credit report information
If your previous employer or home address is listed on your credit report, it’s usually not necessary to correct this right away.
There can sometimes be a significant lag in the major credit bureaus learning that you have a new employer or address. As long as all the other information on your credit report is correct and up-to-date, this should not affect your credit score or the credit bureau's ability to identify you.
If you want to immediately correct this information anyway, you can contact TransUnion directly to ask them to update it. You can contact them using this form or by calling them at this number: 1 (855) 681-3196.
Inaccurate credit report information
If you don’t recognize the employer or address listed on your credit report, or if it otherwise appears to be listed incorrectly, you should contact TransUnion directly to have the information updated.
Visit TransUnion’s Dispute Your Credit page to submit a claim to dispute incorrect information on your credit report or make updates to your credit profile.

- The credit score and report information you see when you log into your NerdWallet account is provided by TransUnion, one of the three major credit bureaus in the United States. TransUnion is our credit score partner, but NerdWallet employees cannot directly work with TransUnion on behalf of individual consumers to update your credit reports. This means we cannot correct your credit report information ourselves.
