Allow split or itemized transactions, with each split/item acting as its own transaction, which can be assigned their own categories.

User can see visualized pay periods in the bill section.

User can see which bills fall within each period.

User can add projected income for each period, which would automatically adjust monthly projected income.

User can make smart financial choices based on how much they have left after bills each period.

I would like to be able to track my payments to my credit cards as an expense monthly and be able to set a goal for paying down my credit cards where the tracker can help me project how long it would take to pay down a card if I made x payment monthly.

Also, currently when a payment is made from a checking or savings account to a credit card the app puts the outgoing cash as "uncategorized" ID like a new category for credit card payments.

Add Transaction Category to app & web interface: Gift or Gifts

Without this category we are forced to select something inaccurate like: shopping (which are products for us not others), Donations (not accurate, especially for tax prep help), Other (unhelpful).

Add ability to filter transactions by date to the web portal.

Add ability to filter transactions by date and category to the web portal.

The mobile app has this feature but web portal does not.  This is valuable because it allows us to see total spend for a given time period (6mo, 1yr, a custom date range, etc.), and even more powerful when coupled w/ data and category filtering (ex. Display total transactions in 2020 for category "Groceries".  Then we can compare groceries in 2020, with 2024, etc.).

This matters for people planning retirement, knowing spend during specific time periods is important (annual spend = needed annual retirement income).

Being forced to use the mobile app for this is NOT a good experience, would you do your retirement planning and complex analysis on a 6" screen?  Would you stick with a tool that forced you to do this in order to derive value from it?

Nice to have would be an experience like Mint which had these web based filtering capabilities plus graphs/ charts.  Thank you!

Add Sub-Categories (or more categories) for specific Utility types.

examples: Water & Sewer, Gas, Electric, Gas & Electric, Internet, Mobile Phone.

How much did we spend on Water last year?  Currently Nerd Wallet cant (easily) tell us this.  (best work around is filtering on a specific utility name but some utilities offer multiple services and this is clunky...).

    Sub Categories for Travel

    Ex.: Airfare, Tolls, Gas, Hotels/Lodging.

How much do we spend annually on airfare? Nerd Wallet cant tell us that... If looking to analyse and impact vacation spend understanding the largest aspects of travel is valuable information.  OK to default to "Travel" Category and let us reassign to more descriptive sub-category.

The beta Bills feature has been pretty awesome, but I just ran into an issue where it won't let me attribute a payment to a specific bill correctly, and it isn't doing so automatically.  When I search for the correct transaction from the Bills screen it doesn't show it as an option, but I can find the transaction on the Transactions screen.  Being able to see what bills transactions are attributed to, and to attribute transactions to a bill from the Transactions screen could be a solution.

It would also be nice to be able to edit details of auto detected bills (ex my annual Ring subscription - the bill was auto detected as "Home Improvement" while the transactions auto detected as "Services", which I think makes more sense).
