How to Reset Your NerdWallet Password
Who this is for:
People who are trying to sign in to NerdWallet but forgot their password, or aren’t sure if they use a password at all.
What this article covers:
This guide explains how to reset your NerdWallet password—if your account uses one. Many NerdWallet accounts use passwordless login methods instead, so we also explain how to tell the difference.
How NerdWallet Login Works
Before resetting a password, it's important to understand how your account is set up. NerdWallet accounts can be accessed in three ways:
- Passwordless login: You receive a 6-digit code via email to sign in.
- Google or Apple sign-in: You use “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Apple.”
- Traditional password: You manually enter an email and a password to log in.
Important: If you use Google, Apple, or passwordless email codes to sign in, you do not have a password. You will not receive a password reset email.
